This morning I did the drawing for the Snowflowers print. The winner is Mary my writing critique partner- Yea!!! Thanks all of you for the nice comments and thoughts about Art on the Page. You can see that I did the drawing in my husband's Denver Broncos hat because today is a playoff game. :)

Winner and New Giveaway!
I'm giving away another hand painted linocut this week to celebrate my 2 year blog anniversary. To be entered in the drawing just leave a comment on this post and follow the blog. If you have thoughts about what the phrase "art on the page" means to you, I'd love to hear. I'm thinking about making a new header and your thoughts are inspiring! The drawing will be next Sunday, Jan 15th.
This is the print I'm giving away this week- Seasons. I haven't matted it yet but I will this week. I hope you like it!

I'm awaaaay down here in tropical Australia so American teams don't always register with me. Yankees= NY baseball and Redsox are Boston, but I admit I had to google Broncos to make sure you're talking football.
ReplyDeleteQuestion - isn't it too snowy for football? (Stoopid question-the man has a hat! duh!)
Hi, Jill! I think I have seen your beautiful linocuts somewhere before.... love them! Hope your 2012 is going well so far (and thank you for visiting my blog!). :)
ReplyDeleteHey Dinah, they WON!! I know you are super excited- haha. :) And you're right the later season football games in Colorado are often pretty snowy but there was plenty of sun today.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to meet you Nina- I enjoyed checking out your work!!
Beautiful work! I'd be honored if I won your art. - Laurisa White Reyes, author of The Rock of Ivanore (http://1000wrongs.blogspot.com)
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful!
ReplyDelete:)
Oh goodness, what a treat to find you via the comment challenge. Prints are my favourite forms of visual art, and your linocuts are lovely. Have followed!
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow!! Another chance to win your beautiful work!!! Hooray!! It looks like 2012 is off to a productive start for you! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jill! Followed a tweet by Brooke Hughes (retweeted) and found you here. So glad I did -- lovely work indeed. I've added you to my blogroll and will definitely be back. Although I subscribed, you don't need to put me in your giveaway drawing -- I love your work, but alas, I'm in Italy, so shipping might be a pain. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for coming to say hi!
ReplyDeleteOMG! what beautiful artwork! So glad I saw your post on SCBWI.
ReplyDeleteI love your Wynken, Blyken and Nod! That is a family favorite poem. The colors are amazing. Well done,
ReplyDeleteElizabeth
Wow Jill, All your linocut's rock! Please sign me up too. It would be so cool to win one of your artwork treasures.
ReplyDeleteJill, your work makes me say little prayers like "Dear Lord, please help me write the perfect picturebook text that Jill will fall in love with so much that she creates its woodcuts in her sleep. As ever, thanks, love, Katy"
ReplyDeleteOf course, I'll have to actually start writing, instead of just reviewing YA books all day, so I'll let you know when divine inspiration hits.
I'd love to hang this art near my computer as a look out the window when it seems that all I see is the monitor!
Will be watching for your next wondrous work - I found you through MotherReader & Lee Wind's Comment Challenge.
So glad I discovered your blog and your work via the comment challenge. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBrooke- thanks so much for tweeting this! I haven't figured out Twitter yet. :)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth- I love that Wynken, Blynken & Nod poem too. It's so fun! My illustration group did it as a theme one month so you can see one by Tina Kugler and one by Brooke Boynton Hughes also if you scroll back through our site- http://betweentheendpages.wordpress.com/
Katy- That is soooo kind of you to say! It would be so excellent if we could make a book together some day.... Start writing!
Thanks again all of you wonderful folks for visiting! :)
