Home sketch colored
Here's a peek of the colored sketch of my poem Home. It still needs some work before I turn it into a linocut! Coloring the drawing really helps me work out the problems before I start carving.
Oh, how beautiful Jill. Last night my partner and I watched the sun set, right until the last little gleam of light disappeared. Right on the other side of the sky was a huge full moon. It was pure magic and it gave me the oddest feeling - the very word that came into my mind was 'home'! I think I was comparing that great ball of fire and that huge chalky sphere with our wonderful rich watery, leafy, cloudy, life-supporting planet. Anyway, I loved checking your blog today (I have been a bit behind lately) and finding your beautiful image and verse. I wonder if you have ever seen this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jP8CC2rKj4 It always makes me think of your work! xx
cool poem and cool illustration!
ReplyDeleteWonderful Jill!! I can't wait to see the linocut version :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Julia & Brooke! Working on this one has been a bit of a struggle but I think it will be really neat once I can turn it into a print.
