Illustration Friday: Wings

Every night new stars bloom and are carried to the sky by a flock of crows.

I just painted this yesterday, and I'm trying to decide if I should make the birds darker. I want them to look like crows, but I want to be able to see them against the black sky also!

  1. This is just beautiful Jill. Amazing. To me those look EXACTLY like dark black crows with their feathers gleaming in the light of the tree stars. I don't think you should change a thing, it's magical just as it is.

  3. Hmm... Jill, until you said they were crows, I saw them as some-other-bird, perhaps doves?
Not sure how you could make the crows darker & yet stand out from the sky unless you outlined them with moonlight.
Love seeing your work - in-progress and completed!
